Review Meeting on EMC Tuem Project: Progress and Future Plans

To date, the EMC has projected the creation of over 1600 jobs through the allocation of a total of 9 plots – 5 industrial plots and 4 Micro Industrial Zone plots. The Minister has directed the Department of IT to share the qualifications needed for these positions with the local MLAs and Panchayat members, suggesting they liaise with the HR teams of the 9 plots allocated.

Furthermore, there are currently 10 applications under review, expected to generate over 550+ jobs. A meeting of the GITDC committee is scheduled for the first week of August to review and issue development and construction licenses for the 9 companies.

Shri Rohan Khaunte highlighted the importance of the project, stating, “We launched the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster sector in 2017 with the goal of accelerating its launch. Despite facing obstacles, with the backing of our Honorable CM, we have finished the crucial infrastructure work at Tuem. Our priority is to ensure the project benefits the local community, with a strong emphasis on local employment.”

Review Meeting on EMC Tuem Project: Progress and Future Plans

We have allocated 9 plots, and we are in the process of establishing the necessary skill criteria, which will be shared with the local MLAs and the panchayat. Facilities for dispensaries, fire, and police stations are almost complete. This initiative is a significant opportunity for Goa, introduced by the Central government’s Double Engine Sarkar. Our administrative block is ready, and we plan to start skill development programs in collaboration with the companies. This new cluster in Goa promises to offer new prospects for the local community, boosting the local economy and promoting holistic village development.
